boring bread rolls

I have a bread machine and make the rolls for everyone's lunchpacks but it's a bit ordinary. I make white, wholemeal or a mixture, boom -sorted!

I thought I would top them with something when I bake them, like cheese but with what? Cheese and rosemary sounds nice but would it taste nice. I never experiment because I don't want to ruin a whole batch.

What do you do or what do you think would work?
