Solitary chicken - need advice

I am on week two of my new chickens. The chicken house is lovely and clean, but I am not sure how often, or indeed how to clean the run? Do you rake it every now and then, or just depoo the run as you can? I use DE to try and help with the nasties but not sure the most effective way of keeping the run clean. It does not smell but is very hot here atm so want to be sure I am on top of the hygiene in the run itself. Thanks

I poo pick as often as I can to help keep the bedding fresh. The cleaning routine would depend on what you are using on the ground??

Whatever you use you will need some form of sanitisation such as Bio dri, stalasan etc to kill all the nasties....unfortunately Diatom won't do that.

I am using saniterpen for the house, or at least I will do when it next needs it. I am onoy 2 weeks down the road with my chickens so the house is clean but is just the run that I want to keep clean.

I have a covered run which is hard wood chip on paving slabs. I pick the poo out every day.
