Any of you who have hens fitted with a bump bit which drinker do you use? I'm considering fitting a bumpa bit to a bird but concerned about water depth in the drinker and it's ability to drink adequately.

I answered your question on another site a drinker with a 'saucer' around 2" deep will suffice. Either that, or pop a heavy dish full of water in the run for that hen to drink from. My hens have the choice of using a gravity drinker or an Omlet glug; either of those would be fine with a bumpa bit fitted.

Aah my youtube question? The water depth in my drinker is around 18mm, if that isn't enough I'll use one of those heavy dog bowls.

I bought a 5 litre waterer which you fill, put the lid on and then flip over as quickly as possible. Think they are caleld gravity ones?? Problem is, half of it pours out after turning so it actually isn't a 5 litre waterer, just a 2.5 litre one!!!! Whre the 5 litre comes into it I don't know. Misold I think

Quickly yes but it still will never hold 5 litres of water in a million years. i am blindingly fast doig it believe me and get soaked in the process!!! How do they get away will selling it as a 5 litre waterer. It's impossible.

It does hold 5ltr. Once you attach the Base and flip it over the water fills the Base section so doesnt look full anymore. You shouldn't be losing a lot of water whilst flipping it over. I may lose only a few mls everytime I do mine.

Yes but I am sure that what is in the dish does not reflect the amount that is missing from inside the waterer. I am pretty good at flipping now, or so I thought
