Chickens and ducks
So our white Campbell has been limping badly for weeks. We took her to the vet 2 weeks ago and she got anti-inflammatory/painkillers. They suspected a possible fracture in the mid knuckle. We have her in an eglu separate from the others. She is still limping badly. She is laying and eating, which makes me think she can't be in pain, but I hate the idea that she is suffering. Any thoughts? GrannyTrish
I'd take her back to the vet and ask for an x-ray.
Chickens and ducks
Thank you for the response. What can they do if it is fractured?
GrannyTrish
I think it depends on where the fracture is and if it's started to heal already, which it probably has by this time.
Cat tails
If she’s still limping I’m guessing she is still in pain. If it wasn’t painful, she wouldn’t be limping. I would also go back to the vet.
Luvachicken
An x-ray on one of my chickens cost £10.00 which I thought wasn't too bad, just to give you an idea of price. At least an x-ray would be able to show if it is broken or if there is something embedded deeply in the foot or leg causing a problem.
