yannovitch
Hi all, I have had some chicken feed (layers' pellets with mixed corn) in a box for a year... (there is a valid reason, but it would be too long to explain...). Now that I plan to get new hens, would this feed still be ok? or should I really discard it? thanks
Grandmashazzie
If it were me I would discard. It can get mouldy and you don’t want to get a bad start with your new chickens 🐓
Patricia W
What quantity do you have left? Does it look and smell ok? Can you remember the make and see how long it usually keeps for? If it's a small amount and seems ok, I'd probably try to mix it in with some good stuff. Or I'd mix it with lard and make it into wild bird food balls. mullethunter
If it’s been totally dry it’s probably ok, but I think I’d chuck it and get new just to be on the safe side.
