Aggienator
Hi, Does anyone know of a good poultry vet in or near Sheffield? One of our girls is laying a lot of softies, although in every other respect she seems to be fit and healthy. We have added calcium and vitamin D to the water and they have free access to the mixed oyster shell and grit. So we thought we should get some further advice. Many thanks for any advice! Lewis
In the past @Egluntyne has said; Park Veterinary Clinic on Abbeydale Road South, opposite Millhouses Park are ok, as are Vets for Pets, just up the road on Abbeydale Road.

mullethunter
I have a pekin who laid a run of eggs with soft shells - actually no shells just membrane. At the dogmothers suggestion I added lifeguard tonic to their water for a little while and her eggs have been good ever since. It is of course possible the timing was just coincidental but it seemed as if it worked.

Aggienator
Dear all, Many thanks for the advice. Unfortunately we haven't found a treatable cause, so it looks like our girls will just be unproductive, but still much loved, pets for the duration....
