umbrella thursday
Thanks to all of you and your help, we are now definitely going to get some bantams when I've saved up for my eglu/cube. I have one worry in that our neighbourhood is full of cats that come and poo in our garden and I'm worried that if I let the bantams out to free range in the daytime, they may get caught by the cats. I know chickens can hold their own against cats but bantams are pretty small so this worries me. Does anybody know if they would be Ok or not? I don't want to have to shut them in all day just because of the cats.
The Dogmother
Both my cats, and the neighbour's cats are scared witless of our banties. Don't worry.

Egluntyne
Hens give a pretty good account of themselves where cats are concerned...I'm sure a bantam peck on the nose is just as painful!

Guest
Mine scare anything witless that dares come into my garden - great for scaring off squirrels, pigeons, cats, birds, - haven't had a dog yet but I bet that would get chased too!
