Shirl
Hi everyone I've only had my chooks 3 weeks but am interested in showing. I showed my Chinese Crested dogs until I got pregnant with my little girl who is 5 months old. The preparation was too much for me. So now I'm thinking maybe chicken showing might be a replacement hobby. Certainly chickens are much cheaper to buy and keep. Does anyone here show and do you know where I could find a list of voucher shows so i can trot along and see what happens? I feel my addictive personality is raising it's ugly head again
feemcg
Sorry, I don't even know what a voucher show is , but I've been thinking about going along to a show to see whats involved.
Shirl
A voucher show is the entry level show. Start at the bottom and work your way up is best
James H
sorry to sound stupid but could you dumb down entry show for somebody who has just heard about one now (thats me!)

feemcg
I don't see a list of shows in my last couple of copies of Practical Poultry - there's a sales and shows section on the forum though.
Shirl
Off to find my copy of . By entry level show I meant that it's less likely to have really high quality chooks attending. It gives you a chance to find out how things work before showing with the experts.

Snowy
Oh, maybe it's not a regular thing then, sorry. I've not had a copy for a while, but my last one definitely had lists of shows. Sorry if I've misled you all!
Shirl
For anyone else that's interested I found a list in Fancy Fowl mag. You don't have to buy it if you go to www.fancyfowl.com you can register a read this months edition for free. It's got a list of shows. It doesn't say which are voucher shows but it does say which are championship level so I know not to enter those.
ChickNic
I don't think my Daisy would win any prizes she has a wonky beak - top one points one way and bottom the other - bless!
chocchick
You could try the Practical Poultry forum, there's a section on showing, and people who do show on the forum.
