Jules.
i am selling my excess netting on ebay & have been asked a question would I consider the netting to be foxproof? What do you think- I am inclined to say no, as it can be dug underneath (or maybe even jumped over). But.... what if it were electrified- would it be fox proof then, or is nothing 100 per cent safe from Mr Fox? Egluntyne
I wouldn't guarantee it to be foxproof....an agile fox can jump high.
Cinnamon
You need to be careful here & cover yourself. As far as I know nothing is 100% fox proof, but maybe an electric fence,if set up properly, is fox resistant???
Jules.
Thanks- I just wanted what I thought about it being fox proof confimed ! I have answered that I think if the fence were electrified then it would be a deterrant, but not totally safe from Mr Fox.
Lesley
I think that's the right way to reply - you can never be 100% certain. Even our set-up could have shortcomings, it just hasn't had any so far...... We kept all our hens surrounded by Omlet netting last year until the runs were built and we locked the Eglus at night - we didn't have any fox problems, but that would just be luck. Rabbieboy
I'm looking to sell my 25metre Omlet netting, the big girls fly over it no bother and the smaller one just pops through the holes. We have to check the garden every time we let the dogs out, Mavis nearly met her maker when she flew over and had 2 dogs running around after her. I bought a solar powered energiser to keep the dogs away but the girls still fly over into the danger zone. I have started building an enclosure to keep them seperate.
