The Dogmother Posted October 3, 2007 Share Posted October 3, 2007 They certainly do Egluntine... quail should be kept in biggish pens with a double door system to stop them escaping - they like it to be landscaped, so need perches, rocks, bushes and grasses. They tend to lay in the undergrowth rather than in nests (bit like my chooks then!). If you intend to breed, then you need yet more pens so that any related birds are seperated and not inter-bred. I was looking into keeping some and breeding them for meat and eggs as I have outlets locally for both, but I don't have the time or money, so have shelved that idea.
