Cheryl
Hello, I want to buy a Fox watch, but I suppose it will make the garden unpleasant for my little dogs...is this true?.. and if so is there anything else I can get to deter foxes..but not my dogs? Egluntyne
You can always turn it off whilst the dogs are in the garden. I've got one, and although I would never rely on it totally, I do think it helps.
Cheryl
ermmmmmmmm, well, cant really do that..our dogs get let out most of the time on and off and at night we send them out quite late when we are about to go to bed for their last poo... this is a real shame now because i would like to have bought one of these... hhmmmph! buffie
Have a dog and 3 cats and a foxwatch, no problems at all BBx
Olly
It certainly doesn't bother my cat, and I thought I'd read somewhere that the frequency it is set at means it doesn't upset dogs, but I can't vouch for that. Whereabouts in North London are you? I'm in Buckhurst Hill which is only just on the Essex border - you could always bring the dog over and see if mine upsets him! Tweety
My foxwatch has no apparent effect on dogs or cats, so it should be ok.
Leicester_H
It certainly doesn't bother my cat, and I thought I'd read somewhere that the frequency it is set at means it doesn't upset dogs, but I can't vouch for that. Apparently, http://www.lsu.edu/deafness/HearingRange.html the hearing range of dogs is 67-45,000 Hz and cats 45-64,000 Hz. and chickens... I hear you ask 125-2,000 Hz but I'm confused by these numbers. So, I emailed concept, the makers of foxwatch who replied (very promptly) "FOXWatch works on the frequency of 40-45 khz and the CA"Ooops, word censored!"ch works on the frequency of 21-24khz. The FOXWatch will deter Foxes and Dogs. CA"Ooops, word censored!"ch will only deter Cats." Hope that helps someone ? H

Leicester_H
so it must make the garden a bit unpleasant for the doggies then? well thats not very nice is it? .. I guess its unavoidable if dogs and foxes have a similar hearing range.
tomalexi
Quite useful to see if it does bother your dogs. If it doesn't then it won't do much to foxes either!
