Tessa the Duchess
Dunno if this is the right forum to post this...here goes Just read a very interesting article in today's Telegraph about keeping guinea fowl and how farmers are using them as 'security guards' against people stealing farm machinery etc., Apparently if they spot anything suspish like strangers creeping about they let out these REALLY load screeches and don't stop until the stranger has gone. The bit that interested me was that they do the same thing if they spot a fox which warns any chooks around to run for safety. Many free range chicken farmers mix guineas in with their hen flocks to protect them. Unfortuately because of the noise I couldn't keep them in a London back garden Has anybody had experience of keeping these birds?
