One Man Banned
Had a very nice phonecall from my mum earlier, telling me that my Uncle is releasing a Christmas song on Friday 30th. It's been done with the help of the community centre he uses in Newport and he and his friend have written and recorded it. They even filmed a video for it on Wednesday. I'm really excited and am going to try and plug this as much as I can everywhere The proceeds from the song will go towards the centre. It's off to Real Radio on Wednesday for them to start playing it on air and goodness knows what other publicity they're going to start doing for it, but I thought I'd announce it here too! There's a link to the article that is in the local paper Here and the track is Here Now, how many singles have to be sold to get it into the charts..... and can anyone think of ways to get this promoted nationally? I can even just about forgive the paper for spelling our surname wrong Thanks A xx Mods, please let me know if this breaks the advertising on the forum rules - I don't want to cause a controversy on the forum
Martin B
I may be wrong but is the W in your surname upside down? I may be wrong.

Guest
failing that, try all the womens mags, they might even pay for the story! My sister sold her story to a few mags (she lost a huge amount of weight) and she was even on an episode of 'Trisha'!

Cate in NZ
Andrew, that's brilliant . I've no ideas about publicity or marketing I'm afraid, but wanted to wish your Uncle all the very best with it, I hope it does well
Charlottechicken
Right, I have emailed my local radio station with the youtube link and the newspaper article, extolling the virtues of a 'proper' Christmas hit, rather than the next winner of X factor being forced upon us. Andrew, send your links to The One Show, you can find them through the BBC site www.bbc.co.uk as they will want all your contact details, and you know more about this project than anyone You could be in time for some sort of filler slot on Friday 30th (fingers crossed)
One Man Banned
Thanks for all your suggestions and help I've phoned things through to the family and they're all really pleased and thankfull too. It was launched at Real Radio today so it will hopefully get some air-play too I have passed on the info about the one-show as I can't take control of that as it's being "managed" by Dave who helped them create the song. Thank you Thank you Thank you A xx
