Ladylucan
Ok, i have now gone down to 9 chickens due to having to rehome the boys, and i now have a brand new cube, i read that the most really should be 10 in a cube, but there seems to be tons of room, i know that they cant be squashed up etc, but what is the most that people have in their cube?? Martin B
I recon 15 medium sized hens. No way 15 in the 2m or 3m runs though, they would have to be fully free-range to keep 15 in a cube.
BeckyBoo
Yes I'd go along with that Martin, I've got 7 full sized hens (not Brahmas or anything) and they've got loads of room in the cube itself, the issue is that mine freerange a lot but not all day long. They've got a run with an extension so they're fairly happy when they're not out, and they've got perches and logs and what not, but if they were out sunrise to sunset I think you'd easily sleep 12-15 hens. Janty
I've got six hens in the cube but two are brahmas and two are cochins....and they have two run extensions with another on the way.
Ladylucan
Thanks , I bought the cube without the run, as DH is building me a big enclosed one so they wont be restricted at all. so sounds like i have room for more.. .... Hum,,,,,,,,,what can i get next, what would everyone say are the nicest types.??? ( though i do no they are all nice, )
