not a rant but a tribute!

Recommended Posts

Sorry, but he kind of makes it up as he goes along. Used a Madhur Jaffrey book initially but now he knows the basics, he makes a different kind each time! Strange that he can't really cook anything else (methinks he'd manage if he had to  ).

Just thought of more nice things to say about him. He was fantastic when my half sister died, I saw a really lovely side to him (which I hadn't really seen before), and also when I fell when out running and broke my hand & couldn't drive/cook/hoover for 6 weeks. He also doesn't comment when the house is knee-deep in dust and ironing (that's you folks' fault, I spend too much time on here :? ) and always eats everything I put in front of him.

ask him a question for me then Vicki, does he think a balti sort of curry would be okay if i chucked a can of coconut cream in it to make it a bit milder? DH likes a spicy curry so I usually bish bash bosh together a balti-ish sort of curry but I'd prefer to tone it down just a wee bit as I like mild curries but DH won't entertain a khorma, hates them!

That should work - or use thick plain yoghurt. He often does yoghurt based ones now that oldest son is eating his curries so they're not too hot for him.

Aaaaaah, Poet, your lovely description of your hubbie made me smile - lucky you! :D

Me? I got a man that can't walk past an electrical store, without 'popping in for a wee look' and coming back out having spent a fortune. A man that can't heat a tin of beans up without burning them. A man that is great in planning DIY projects, and even better at sitting back and watching me carry them out. A man that thinks a dishwasher is a magical machine that can both fill and empty itself, and switch itself on, all through the power of pixie magic. A man who finds himself physically incapable of putting dirty socks or undies anywhere apart from the bedroom floor.

But then I also got a man that is happy to drive an hour and half home, almost into England everynight to come home, because I fell in love with the Balamory House. A man that likes all the chocolates in a box of roses that I don't, but never touches an orange or strawberry cream, a man is happier spending a Saturday afternoon with his children, than down the pub with his mates, a man that appreciates every meal I cook for him, even the disasters and a man that lets me spend far too much time on a certain chicken forum...... :D:D:D

The Balamory House

It's an ecofriendly house. Top of the range insulation, thermal glazing (including the south facing sunporch, which has proved highly effective so far this winter) and it was built ready with the wiring, and boiler for both a wind turbine and solar panels. Hopefully they should be getting fitted early next year, before the baby arrives.
