Guest
Well, thank you everybody for recommending Dell. After much thought, I have spent some inheritance money on my very own Laptop. No more fighting for time on the PC!! I ordered from Dell, choosing exactly what I wanted, at 11pm on Friday. The built-to-order machine arrived at 9:30am on Tuesday. That is excellent service and I am absolutley thrilled to bits. This forum is great!
The Dogmother
Great news Ginette - better password the machine now so that no-one can sneak on it!
Jules.
I have a Sony Vaio laptop and they are superb Mine was superb [damn burglars!], but now [hopefully] im getting a Macbook Pro Alexander has one of these- it's about 10 years old & it was given to him, but it's still great for what he uses it for. After having had an eMac for 4 years using a PC seems quite alien to me. If I had the choice I would like a notebook ( but I'll never get the chance)
Egluntyne
I have a Sony Vaio laptop and they are superb but very pricey. I've got one of those somewhere. It weighs a ton.

I had one in an old job and it was the smallest and thinnest laptop ever - great screen visibility too. I'd recommend them.
Popcorn
We got a Dell Laptop just before Christmas. Service has been excellent, and a great price too. I ordered Vista, and I wished I hadn't. It has slowed down this fairly high spec machine considerably, and I can't install either my printer or scanner either. For the small amount of time I use it, and the small stuff I do with it, I wished I'd stuck to XP.
