toastedblue
is this an alternative to red mite powder or do I need both ? and, is this the right stuff... because it seems very cheap compared to Omlet's at £16 for TWO 400g puffer packs... http://www.pesthelp.co.uk/weshop/flea-control.asp
Christian
Yes, thats the right stuff! Diatom for short. I use both diatom and red mite powder as a preventative measure. Up to you really, but the red mite powder smells lovely!
Ain't Nobody Here
I use both too. Diatom brushed onto the ends of the roosting bars and in any crevices in the eglu (and a tiny bit in their tea a couple of times a week) and Red Mite Powder added to their nest box. Also dust Red Mite Powder under their wings if I ever remember (only done that once so far ).
CatsCube
Look up Magic Dragon by Mitex, they sell it in a lot of pet shops, its the same thing again, but about £2 for a little puffer bottle. You dont need much as it lasts ages.
