Well done all of you with your pool, parking and spider catching skills.

Me, I can drive, park and catch spiders, driving's fine, parking and spider catching I'm OK at but not the best :roll: Perhaps my spatial awareness thingy is stereotypically feminine, certainly I'm not entering into any competitions with any of you

Pool :?: I'm fantastic at lying by a pool on a sunny day with a book and supply of cold drinks 8):P:P . Does that count :?

there's no reason why a woman shouldn't be able to handle a cement mixer - it's just like a washing machine - only with less program options and no need to close the door...

:shock::shock::shock:

You're right - I never use the washing machine (except for mixing up the odd batch of muck!) - far too complicated!

we have strict demarcation in our house..

I do all the washing up, cleaning, out-door garden-type stuff, bin-emptying, packed lunches, diy-fixing type stuff, dog-walking, anything chicken-related, shopping and baking, trps to the dump, talking to tradesmen and anything to do with the car..

we share general cooking and child picking-up/dropping off etc..

she does all clothes-washing, ironing and clothes putting away..

looks like I get a good deal then :?

Phil (but I wouldn't swap the missus for anything!)

:D - I'll let you off then

I do all the cleaning, sewing, gardening and DIY - Carl does all the cooking, dishwasher duties and trips to the tip(and lots more).

I'm not allowed to the tip because I come back with more than I take :(

Aha, but there's lots of general domestic type chores not mentioned there Phil, like vacuuming, dusting, window cleaning, floor cleaning..... shall I go on :?

Perhaps she's doing all these things and you're simply not noticing :?:roll: .

Every right for her to start feeling undervalued there, so I'd watch my step if I were you

...quick mathematical point for Lesley...

revnev - 231 posts

Lesley - 5824 posts

I've been in a lot this week waiting for tradesmen - getting seven quotes for various bits of work - waiting for them to turn up - and phoning them when they don't show has left me chained to the house..

(the missus won't talk to tradesmen - they make her nervous!)

hence my increased posting-volume this week (not as prolific as the football list I belong to though...)

no Kate - all those things are included under "cleaning" - which appears under my list...

(still wouldn't swap her though...)

Phil

Ahh - the other thing she does (and I don't) is nit-combing and sorting our daughters hair...

I've already answered this one Phil - we can multi-task  I'm actually doing some tiling as I type

and as I type I am emptying the eglu poo-tray... all those bits down the keyboard don't help, though... :? and I'm thinking about my sermon for Sunday morning and trying to pick some hymns... I also have some cymbals taped to my knees and a contraption around my neck that holds a mouth-organ and I am playing the dam-busters march...

Er, Rev Phil, I don't want to appear to be leeting our side down nor nuffink, but don't you only work one day a week?:D:D

Richard T

Yes Richard - but shhhhhh... don't let on! :D

(but that doesn't let the missus off the hook - she's a vicar too..)

I'm sure you must have room for the broom.....somewhere?

the missus has been known to make the odd suggestion as to where I might stick the broom...
