Bea was sitting in the sun and made a noise a bit like when you blow thru your lips, if it's cold, you know brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr but higher pitched.

 

Does that mean she was happy or something else? Not heard the others doing it although they do make contented noises but never heard them do this particular noise.

Sounds like a happy chicken purr to me! I often hear mine doing that when they are sat on the nest. Is she about to give you an egg?

Yep- Sounds like a "purr" to me, our girls do it if they are having a dustbath or snoozing in the sun. Adorable isn't it?

my lot make allsorts of noises ranging from happy chirps to high pitched chirps....seems a happy sound to me!

think i'll pop her on the grass tomorrow for a little while, so she can free range for a bit, as best she can. Then I'll pop her back in and let the others out.
