Egluntyne
There are plenty of "pet safe" disinfectants available at any reliable petshop, Debbie......I'd stick to one of those.
Eyren
I use Milton Fluid - I figured if it was mild enough for babies and even cats (who are sensitive to most chemicals) it's probably OK for chickens
chelsea
I use a little squirt of ecover washing up liquid, with a good rinse with the hosepipe - smells lovely too!
Ain't Nobody Here
I use ecover w/up liquid for a major cleanout but just a pet bird spray from Pets At Home for a mini-clean.

Janty
I soak the roosting bars in dettol to clean them. Then I rinse them thoroughly in fresh water and allow them to dry out in the shed for a week ( we have two sets for each cube). I have never had any problems with it.
