Christian
I have a special poo picking glove. Nothing special...just an odd marigold. Whereas my poo picking glove is sequined I use aubiose in the nest box, droppings tray and run and it works well. It all clumps together to make cleaning out easier. Egluntyne
Whereas my poo picking glove is sequined . I did buy a long handled spoon for flicking it onto the compost heap....but I seem to have lost it. That was useful.
HasSumAmi
Thanks one and all. I have popped shredded paper into the box for the moment whilst I sort out the getting the other stuff. I shall get myself a sequined glove and a wooden spoon and then I'll be well away in sorting this out as one of them has definitely taken to sleeping in the box. Better make sure I tell husband about the spoon - wouldn't want him cooking with it.

I have this vision of you seeing to the hens in a ball gown. Do what I do and write HENS in black indelible ink on spoons, washing up brushes and any other paraphernalia that could find its way back into the cutlery drawer. This really made me laugh, do you think sequined glove and wooden spoon should be added to the list of essentials to get for keeping chickens?? She flapped loads but eventually settled. Got my son to dig out a worm to give her. She kept dropping it - the daft pud. Maybe being held and eating was too much coordination for one evening. Egluntyne
Well done for picking her up. I was very nervous about it for a few weeks. In fact .....I couldn't do it unless I was wearing gloves....sequined or otherwise. I feel so daft now.
