AMO
I came home a little earlier than unusual today to find : - Hazel stuck 3ft up in the air between our fence and the small wooden house we keep in the run for emergencies. She was wedged in a 3-4 inch gap. Lord only knows how she managed to get herself in there - she had no way of getting out without my help. She was OK when I managed to get her out - no damage but she was very hungry as she stuck her head in the grub. Dread to think how long she had been stuck or what state she would be in if we were away overnight! - Then Fifi bent over to reveal a very sore, featherless and bleeding belly - she had a full set of bloomers when I left this morning so now I have a feather puller to deal with! There were all dusted for lice at the weekend so I doubt it was self inflicted. If only they could talk!
MedusA
Poor Hazel and Fifi! Poor you too. They are a worry sometimes, aren't they. Hope Hazel is none the worse and that Fifi recovers soon.
peanut12
sounds to me like Fifi mounted a rescue bid, and laying on her belly, stretching out her wing for her flatmate to grab on to may have caused the damage "Calls for chicken emergency service, 0845 25825 78825" If anyone can be bothered there is a code in the number

AMO
The feather picker is Tallulah - who has always been the sweetest chook out of the bunch! She has obviously got a taste for it now as all three now have bare bottoms. A anti-peck ring has now been fitted, Fifi and Hazel now have purple bottoms

Guest
can someone explain how you get 'cluck stuck' from those numbers please!?
AMO
can someone explain how you get 'cluck stuck' from those numbers please!? On a telephone number pad each number has three letters - the numbers represent a letter (like when you send a text from a mobile) Hope that makes sense now.
