chelsea
I think id go for the broom option in these circumstances! Gently guide chooks towards direction of ladder with broom behind them (dont touch them with the broom) You could always try the "light shining through the egg port" with a torch - but this may not work and you will get cold and wet! other than that its a case of picking them up and putting them in
Egluntyne
Have you got a small child handy to "guide" them up the ladder? The broom trick is probably your best bet. They will get the hang of it after a few days.
Big Dave
Thanks all, the touch did it. Let it in the cube and within 10 mins they have climbed in...

Christian
Hello Stevie and welcome to the forum. The chickens head towards the light of the torch.
Stevie
lol-sounds a bit ominous...walk towards the light! Thanks for the welcome.Looks like i'll have to invest in a good torch then!
cluckbok
We always find ours just go in on their own if it's dark, they go in the eglu to roost. But if we want to get them in the run instead of free ranging, we just sprinkle a little corn in the run and they so run in.
