Laura007
Do you think he or she may try to climb into the eglu bit and tip themselves upside down? its funny you should ask that, as an ex collegue always asks her if she has turned him upside down and spun him round!!!! Aunty e
I have a whole bunch of postcards from omlet with a tortoise and an eglu. I think they would be fine in a rablu as long as they were already big enough to stay outside. I was thinking that when they hibernate you could just stuff them into the eglu with loads of straw and some food for when they wake up and pop the eglu into a corner of the garden until the spring. Or do what my mother in law did, wrap the tortoise in a scarf and shove him under the sofa. Ignatius was fine for years like that.

I'm relieved you made it clear that it was the tortoise and not your OH that got this treatment from your MIL Does anyone else remember when the Blue Peter tortoise was put in a box to hibernate each year?
