feemcg
Wee Mima is only 20 weeks old today.......and laid her 1st egg - it's huge too for such a wee duck. I've never tasted a duck egg before, so a bit unsure how to cook it to appreciate the flavour - any ideas?
superjules
Oooh, how exciting - I'd fry it personally, that's what I've done with all our girls "first" eggs.
Ain't Nobody Here
That's exciting . How huge is huge? Have you weighed it? Don't know anything about cooking them, sorry .
feemcg
I don't have scales, must get some as some of the chooks are laying some 'whoppers' just now too. When I'm (rarely ) baking I weigh out an ounce as a heaped tablespoon (I'm sure that's what my home ec teacher told me ).
feemcg
To update, it was a double-yoker and I had it fried with black pudding and mushrooms - yummy - didn't think there was any great difference in taste from a chook egg (and she's laid another the same size today!).
