Snowy
Yay well done! That first egg is always exciting! Often first eggs may have a thinner shell, or even no shell, so hopefully that side of things should improve
chelsea
congratulations!! first eggs are always eggciting and memorable...I was telling everyone when we got our first. Shame it was broke though, nevermind once they get in the swing of things it will be full steam ahead!

kiwichick
Well today Mildred laid another egg, sadly not chocolate or polka dotted but lovely none the less. I feel like a proud new mum and I'm looking forward to frying it up for lunch. At 34g there will be just enough for us all to have a little bite. Before she laid it though it seems George decided to peck some feathers out of Mildred's bum!!! Poor girl Why would George do that? Would Mildreds vent be kind of exposed a bit in the half hour before she laid her egg? I mean, I know chickens peck each other but up until now we've only had a bit of tail pulling in the early days when they were more confined. Ain't Nobody Here
Congratulations . At 34g it's going to be a tiny wee bite . I'm sure they'll get bigger with time . Don't know about the pecking .
