Lone Ranger Posted March 23, 2008 Share Posted March 23, 2008 Hi, I went to my usual supplier yesterday to stock up on feed and bedding and was told by the owner that they had run out of Hemcore and were having problems with supplies due to a fire at the Hemcore factory . Has anyone else come across this problem ? Luckily they also stocked Aubiose - so I'll be trying that for once and will see how it compares. Your post has made something click into place for me though - we went to pick up some Hemcore two days ago and there was only one bale left, which surprised me given the size of the place and the sheer amount of horse bedding-type things it stocked. WitchHazel Posted March 23, 2008 Share Posted March 23, 2008 Oh, thanks for posting that. The guy I buy my stuff from was unable to deliver Hemcore for me and delivered Aubiose instead. I was a bit put out at the time as he has Aubiose in stock but orders the Hemcore in on request, and I had given him plenty of notice. He told me he hadn't been able to get hold of any Hemcore, there was a major supply problem - and I did wonder whether he just hadn't ordered it. I'm ashamed of myself for doubting him. Same here - we bagged the last bale at our local country store a couple of weeks back. Very glad we did so! (and apologies if we deprived any South Cambs omleteers!) Eyren Posted March 23, 2008 Share Posted March 23, 2008 I can't find any news of a factory fire in either Maldon, where the current Hemcore factory is, or Halesworth (where they are building the new one for their expanded business). Most people have run out. ... and its the auboise factory that has had a fire in france. A lot of people still have auboise, but it is running out fast with no new supplies for a while. Christian Posted March 25, 2008 Share Posted March 25, 2008 I called my aubiose supplier today and they won't have any in stock for a few eeks he thinks. 2 other local places were out of stock too!
