ajm200
Thank you so much for the tips on using hemcore and bokashi bran. A couple of days after the hens arrived, their patch of garden was taking on a slight farmyard smell, the cube really needed a good scrub and i was wondering what we'd let ourselves in for. Following the advice on this forum we started using bokashi and hemcore 4 days ago. I've just cleaned out the cube again today and it was so much quicker and less smelly than before - almost a pleasant experience. I'm sure that the other newbies would agree that our introductions to chicken keeping have been made much easier with all the wonderful advice from the members of this forum. Keep up the good work

ajm200
I get mine from www.wigglywigglers.co.uk. They also sell layers mash with bokashi already added. I've just been giving them a handful between 5 in their treat bowl as they are still quite young and not eating many pellets. They love it - it only lasts for few minutes
