One_Box
Hi All, Hope to get my Eglu tomorrow and am wondering what disinfectant Eglu owners use to clean their little houses with. At present I use Jeyes Fluid diluted correctly on our wooden ark without problem but notice on the tin that it may have an adverse effect on plastic. Obviously I do not want to damage my Eglu, so any thoughts you may have would be appreciated.
Egluntyne
Hello....I don't! I just wash it with warm water and a few drops of Ecover washing up liquid ever week and a blas with the power washer as the mood takes me. :ol: There are lots of pet safe disinfectants available. Have a look in your local pet shop.
Sarah B
I bought pet disinfectant from Omlet but you really don't need it. I use the Ecover as well and a scrubbing brush and hose. Make sure it all towelled dry (or sun dryed - if we ever see any) when you put it back together as the hens are not keen on damp.

One_Box
Thank you all for your replies. It would seem that washing up liquid in warm water and a bit of elbow grease is the order of the day. I will just have to see how dirty my two chooks make it but once a week seems a good place to start. There is always the power washer if I'm feeling lazy
craftyhunnypie
All I use is nice hot water with a few drops of tea tree oil. It smells lovely & keeps flies away in the summer months! Emma.x
