Ain't Nobody Here
Lovely pictures . Can they get from the Omlet run into your fab big run? And is that another red eglu at the other end or just a reflection?
andrewandcarly
yes they can get from the eglu to the big run and i have 2 red eglus, one at either end. i can tell mary and maureen apart. we have only had the 2 gingernut rangers a week tomorrow but mary is brilliant. she will come up to us as soon as we go in the run and today she has eaten out of my hand. they havent laid yet but am hoping soon we will see eggs, the leghorns have been laying for a couple of weeks. Egluntyne
Looks lovely. You might at some stage want to consider putting some weld mesh around the lower part of the run though, as foxes can easily bite through chicken wire I'm afraid. andrewandcarly
we have 2 english bull terriers which we have had for nearly 3 years now. I think their scent is laid down enough in the garden to keep any foxes away. we dont seem to have a fox problem around here, next door but one have 2 rabbits which are always out and about although we are careful to keep them withing the eglu run when we are not about. we got a second eglu yesterday. my intention is to get 2 more hens and the idea was to put the current 4 in one side and let the new ones have the other whilst introducing them slowly. the first night with 2 eglu's, the 2 rangers took themselves off to one eglu and the leghorns to the other!! prior to that they had been sleeping fine together!
