AliA
Hi there, Girls arriving on 4th April, so accommodation prep very much underway. I have ordered an Eglu cube and extended run to house 1 cream legbar, a french wheaton maran and a buff pekin. I want to allow them as much space as possible whilst in their run and was wondering if it is possible to add on a second extention to the Cube giving me the run that it comes with + two extentions?. Has anyone done this?. First time 'mummy' so any help appreciated. Thank you and happy sunday!.
Christian
Hello AliA As far as I am aware you can add as many extensions as you like! Each extension comes with a supporting pole and you simply take the door off and add the extra panels. I think Dan and Debs have a couple of extensions? Off to try and find a picture for you. Eyren
Hi Ali Are you getting all your chickens from the same place? The only reason I ask is that pekins are very small* compared to a largish breed such as a Maran, and you may get some bullying if they are not accustomed to one another * my younger pekin was about the size of a wood pigeon when I got her, even though she was POL! Janty
I have the standard run plus two extentions on both cubes. You could add more if you wanted to. As someone else said, they come with a metal support and in theory you could add more and more.
Christian
Thanks for posting the picture Janty. I can't find Dan and Debs' 'cube train' picture!
bronze
I have two except I only have one pole as one of the extentions is in fact someone elses spare run. It works ok and I'm glad I did it that way as now I can get in my run
Trapper
We have 5 girls with 3 extra extensions to the giving the girls 4 meters. Great for the girls but difficult to clean as so long. How do you other guys get on with cleaning out such long run's with such little doors?
Christian
I think most people take the whole door panel off and then clean out the run Trapper. if you don't have enough green 'finger breaking' run clips, you can order some from Omlet or use cable ties instead.
