bokbok
I know chooks are outdoor birds , but some ppl here say they bring theirs in for a cuddle or if it's nasty weather. Mine are bold enough to come into the sunroom , and would come in the house if I let them , but how do you stop them from going to the loo unexpectedly it's not like they can tell you they need to go
Flo
If I let mine into the house I only let them walk on a floor that can be wiped clean! I have had them in the living room, which is carpeted and I was worried about poo so had my chicken wrapped in a towel. OH said it would be fine so his was perched on his lap where she did the most enormous poo all over him and the carpet! I would have been cross but I couldn't stop laughing for 10 mins! Egluntyne
Mine are not allowed into the house!
ajm200
Neither are mine but that doesn't stop them My 16 month old opens the patio door for them when they 'knock'. A fairly new trick but one he's very fond of. They aren't even allowed near the house now but they find a way. I'm still trying to remove the stains from one of their poos from the carpet after a visit last week
Keanie Bean
We would only be able to stop ours from coming into the house with a physical barrier like a child stairgate with chicken wire on it. We get 'presents' from them all the time, but we have hard flooring so it can be cleaned up easily. Sarah.x
Mrs Webmuppet
I brought mine into the kitchen the other week when we had a visit from some friends and it was far too rainy outside. They sat quite happily on the childrens laps ( on a tea towel) fortunately there were no mishaps, they were on their best behaviour! Our friends are seriously thinking about getting chickens as a result!
Laura & CTB
We have hard floors here too - the girls are not allowed inside when the rugs are down during the winter although I dont mind them going into the utility room
