bridgy chooks
Hi all Just had a chat with a neighbour and he's said that he's seen a stoat running in and out of the run recently Obviously need to seal up any holes I can find but does anyone know if they can hurt chickens???? superjules
I'm surprised they haven't been hurt already if there's a stoat. I thought they were pretty mean little creatures. I know they'll take rabbits so I would have thought it would be capable of taking a chicken. They're able to get through tiny gaps though. abwsco
Stoats will rip the heads off chickens from what I've read!

superjules
When I was 11 I lost my pet duck "Webster" to what was thought to be a stoat, as it was found headless.
Stevie
Stoats are up there with Mink,Weasels and Foxes-enemy #1,2 & 3!
Egluntyne
I'm afraid they may pose a danger to your hens.......and will steal eggs too. Perhaps you could set a live trap and then take him for a long ride in the car.

(Not all cats and dogs I know) My chickens will be living in fort knox soon!
