I have a loose piece of cartilage which was floating around but has now stuck and causing me trouble , the physiotherapist has been trying to move it and has also given me exercises to do myself - but she's not looking hopeful.

I think I'm going to end up having an op

sorry I don't know anything about hip cartilage I'm sure someone will be along soon who does know though - the wonders of the forum......there's always someone who knows something

Whatever happens I hope they do something soon - even when I walk really slowly it still hurts I'm piling on the pounds with all this sitting down , I shall have to get the dumb bells out and do some upper body exercise

Hi, I work at an Orthopaedic hospital and the usual thing we do for loose cartilage is to give the joint a good wash out and remove any loose bitsa using a key hole athroscopic procedure. They are usually very successful. If you have problems with any of your other joints, surgeons do recommend taking glucosamine sulphate to help new cartilage growth.

Good luck - I know these things are very sore - I have arthritis in my knee and a hip problem too and oh boy especially in this weather.
