i got some strawberries and a couple of them are bit battered but still fresh, can i chop them up and give to the chickens?

 

 

 

A strawberry was the first treat that my girls were given they ate the leaf and wouldn't touch the beautiful red juicy berry.

Mine love all fruit. They get whatever my son leaves and anything that gone a bit mushy in the fruit bowl

 

Their favourites are

 

Watermelon

any other melon (they prefer the seeds though)

pear

banana

grapes

sultanas

necterine

strawberries

 

I believe the only fruit they can't have is citrus and avocado.

 

Too much fruit seems to offset the benefit of the bokashi bran and increase the number of yellow stinky parcels they leave so their fruit intake is limited to every other day
