I am building a run which I am using the base of an old block greenhouse I found in the garden. It will be approx 17ft x 8 ft.

Can anyone tell me how many bales of hemcore/auboise I will need to cover this area?

I would say three or four.

The thicker you have it the more they like it. Mine have a covering of about three inches and they spend all day scratching about in it. They even use it to dustbathe in. Mind you I only have an Elgu, I only needed about 4 bucketloads for that.

mines 12x3 and 2/3 is hemcore i use half a bag quite deep so i'd say 3 bags.

My run is 12' x 6' and one bag is plenty - gives a really thick layer. I think 2 would be plenty for you.

Thanks for asking that - I needed to decide how many bales to source. My run is about 13ft by 10 feet so am going to try with 2 bales.
