Does anyone rub anything onto the Eglu and Cube plastic to stop it getting brittle in the future?

No. TBH I've never considered it.

 

Mine have done winters and summers and there doesn't appear to be a problem of that sort.

My green Eglu is 4 years old has been out in sun, rain, snow and frost and looks as good as new. No sign of deterioration whatsoever and I've never put anything on it to protect it other than washing it with washing up liquid and water to keep it clean .

I saw a red eglu on eBay that had "faded like all eglus do". It was definately faded, but I'd never heard of one fading before. I wonder what they'd done to it... There shouldn't be any need to put anything on it to stop it going brittle as one of the selling points of the eglu is that you don't have to cure it every year like wood.
