Have had the chooks for a couple of weeks now, and our cat seems to think they have come in to the family soley for his entertainment. After a week of watching them through the wire while they were acclimatising, it was all his chritmasses come at once when we let them out for the first time. He tried to pounce, got flapped at and pecked and was entirely put out!. Now, after a week, he sits and waits for them to be let out, not so that he can play with them, but because his new favourite watering hole is the glug! And when he can't get into the run, he sits outside and puts his paw between the wire to dip into the glug. Have taken some photos and will upload when I can find the lead which plugs the camera into the computer.

My cats don't do that but I think they're all a bit mad anyway! Kirby ignores them entirely - he's too important to be bothered. Samus went face to face with Opal and had a quick peck on the nose! He now likes to stay in the house. Link (1 yr) has been chased by the chickens and now likes to walk so far up the path and then makes a mad dash for the house! He does this backwards and forwards all the time the girls are free ranging. I think he's an adrenalin junkie!!

 they are so brave when the chooks are in the run aren't they ?

I've seen my 2 siamese slinking up and down the side of the run when the chooks are safely locked away, they do the whole waiting, tensing , tail twitching thing like they are big feral felines.

Today , I was out in the back garden with the chooks, my cat was yowling out front, so I called him, he came trotting down the side of the house the same time as Bluebelle decided to run back to the run for a drink ( Bluebelle goes everywhere at a run  )they practically ran into each other at the corner, my cat moved so fast he was back over the fence before I'd realised what happened - Bluebelle didn't even stop !

my old girl loves the chooks, sits with them all the time, they are very young so take a real interest in her, my other cat Molly is just 6 & has tried a couple of times to sneak up on them but they gang up on her & she scarpers, she sits & watches from a safe distance now

Rascal (left) was lying on his back in front of the pen the other evening - same behaviour he did when we tried to introduce a female friend for him (but she kicked him out of the house so she had to go).

He nearly had his nose pecked again tonight though the bars but moved back just in time, then meowed at them wimpishly. All he wants is friends

Bob is a dog not a cat and i had them out free ramging for the first time this morning with him on the lead, he seemed more interested in sniffing their bottoms more than anything and the girls didn't even flinch!! Although Gwyn gave him a quick peck on the ear for his troubles haha!!
