Chicken Licken
The pure breeds will be bigger than hybrids. Your caps lock button is on by the way - makes it harder to read for people like me!! Glad the girls are growing nicely. I think my speckeldey will be the biggest - her feet are huge

jomaxsmith
HAVING YOUR CAPS LOCK ON IS THE INTERNET EQUIVALENT OF USING A MEGAPHONE. Persistent 'caps-lockers' are likely to be regarded as annoying shouty people so maybe you ought to get used to typing normally Jo

Egluntyne
For the smooth running of the forum, and for ease of reading posts etc there has been a request not to "shout" or use text speak **here**. It just makes it easier for everyone that's all.

Mrs Frugal
Hi Pete, I don't know which will be larger - the RIR or the LS but one of my LS is a very big girl so you may find your Light Sussex is biggest . Whichever is, they'll be lovely .
meezers
Hiya, I have a Rhode Island Red and a light Sussex, both about the same age, the Light Sussex is the biggest - in fact she's the biggest of my 6, very plump and cuddly looking
Pete1974
i love them all to bits. my light sussex seems to be a bit more shy than the rest but my rhode island red has the biggest bright yellow feet you have ever seen. much more confident around everybody infact she gave our jack russel a shock at dinner time when she grabbed his nose. he jumped a mile

Egluntyne
A friend of mine has a couple of Rhode Island Reds. They are large...about the same size as my Pepperpot girls. They are intriguingly called Belle and Sebastian They are scatty and a bit daft, but lovely.
meezers
LOL Pete, your two sound just like mine, Pepper the Light Sussex is the most shy, still isn't crouching, I'm lucky if I can get close enough to stroke her. Margo, my r.i.r is sure she's a house chook, spends all her free range time trying ( and often succeeding )to get inside with us, is most indignant when I turf her out ! she is so funny, definitely the nosiest. Abbey Road Girl
Hey, Pete, I envy you those yellow legs (not yours ). I have four Miss Pepperpot hybrids and two have the grey Maran legs and two have yellowish legs from their RIR ancestry. Love the bright yellow legs (and there's some interesting chicken history related to that). The main thing on this forum is the love of chooks! I'll bet your Jack Russell gives your hens a wide berth now! Thanks for writing in lower case. Does make it easier on the eyes.
TAJ
My Light Sussex is the smallest, bottom of the pecking order, has never crouched, will not feed from my hand and has never willingly been picked up (OK once you get her in your arms). My Bluebelle is my biggest, then the blackrock. I guess it will be a case of wait and see which of yours ends up the biggest - but let us know ...we could start a poll - guess the weight of the chicken!
