Stevie Posted April 30, 2008 Share Posted April 30, 2008 My Pepperpot 'Sage' started laying last tuesday and albeit a small egg (43g)-it was however perfect.The next egg turned out to be a double yolker so was a suprising bonus! The eggs are currently around the 50g mark,but am wondering when they'll be at full size? ajm200 Posted April 30, 2008 Share Posted April 30, 2008 I think it depends on the chicken One of ours has been laying for about 3 weeks and her eggs rarely go over 45g Another has been laying for a 10 days, started at about 40g, then laying double yolkers every other day, went on to lay two softies instead of double yolkers and now lays perfect single yolk eggs weighing 70-80g every day. Stevie Posted May 2, 2008 Author Share Posted May 2, 2008 woooo wooooo wooooo! Sage today laid a whopper of an egg which tipped the scales at 100g!!! Weird that she's gone from laying 50g eggs to double that size.Hopefully tommorrows will be a big one too,but she may not lay at all because i had to use a chainsaw earlier which spooked them. I wish i had photographed it for evidence,but i gave it to a friend aling with a few more for giving me a hand for cutting a large tree down so i guess he'll be eating it tommorrow morning.I've never seen an egg this big!!!
