4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Well its day 5 today so I let the chooks out for the 1st time.....

 

Initially they were a bit unsure but they have had a lovely day discovering the garden beyond the eglu run. One of the highlights for them was pecking at my wellie boots (I had to have the pink & white marshmallow boots!!) & being able to stretch their wings.

 

They are now back in the run & both sitting down absolutely exhausted. At least I hope thats what it is & not some horrible illness

 

Anyway I hope yours have all enjoyed the decent weather

my girls always have a pre going to bed snooze when I pop them in their run at the end of the day

Yep-definetly tired.Freeranging does tire them out because it uses more energy.Mine generally go to bed approximately 1hr earlier when they've been out in the garden all day.

The girls had to stay in the run one evening as it was raining too hard, and they went to bed early!! When they have the run of the garden they stay out as late as possible, and then when it's bedtime they knock on the french doors (don't know why as we just shout goodnight through the glass) and then shuffle into their run for a well earned rest

funny because I was wondering why the girls took themselves off to bed earlier today, it's all the mooching around the garden they've been doing..
