Working with Joe Public...

Recommended Posts

I'd forgotten about my compulsion with drawers and cupboards being shut

Mind you my ex was always doing that and not jus a bit open in my old huse the kitchen was a tiny gally with work units on both sides and the number of times I was cooking and turned round and whacked myself on an open drawer or door

I suppose it might explain why I hate it so much

Come to think of it he is also the reason I hate gum he chewed it constantly drove me nuts

Okay I just think he was my problem full stop

I also think that males tend to start slightly further up the spectrum than females. (thats not supposed to be a criticism just something I've noticed over the years)

I agree with you. DH is a very handy man, he can mend or fix virtually anything :) Problem is before he starts a job he has to have all the necessary tools, which have to be laid out in really straight row in order of

when he will need them, drives me nuts  I keep telling him if he doesn't get a move on I will get the Yellow Pages and have a man round and the thing fixed before he's finished straightening his wrench or whatever :D:roll:

OH is the same, has to count all the screws in a flat-pack before he'll even contemplate making it.

:shock: But that's essential! How do you know that everything's there unless you've done a full audit of every last piece?

I also like to arrange jigsaw pieces according to number of straight edges and where the lugs are  But this is for really difficult 1000+ piece jigsaws, not the kids 24 piece ones

I can't believe I'm admitting to this, OH thinks I'm barking

I have a compulsion for checking things are locked, turned off bla, bla, bla. And then I check them again.

I often return to my car to make sure I locked it. I have been known to turn around on the way to work to go home and make sure I turned the Iron off.

I think this stems back to when I first bought the house and was working away in Reading. I came home to find I had left the gas on the hob on for a whole week  The house was very warm and I got a tasty gas bill that quarter too. I am glad I remembered to take the pan off the the hob though.
