The chicks will know where they live, maybe you should let them out 1/2 hour before bedtime so that you can supervise them. Hope this helps. This is just what I have read on here, I am particularly interested in this topic because my two were 8 - 10 weeks old when i got them and I would like to introduce 2 more youngish chicks in the summer. You need to let them all see each other each day, but if you let them loose now the older ones could kill the chicks as they can't defend themselves.
