Chooks Aloud

What a surprise ....

Recommended Posts

Hubby came home yesterday and informed me that he'd got a present for me. All excited I tried to guess what it was - chocolates, flowers, a garden ornament, something for the chooks ...but to no avail.

He took me outside and there on the patio were ...

.......

.......

5 large sacks of ...... horse manure!! "Look" he said "still steaming".

Who said romance was dead!!! Actually, I was very pleased as they went straight into the compost bins. Fantastic.

My hubby's great he's bought me all sorts of things over the years; compost bins, wormery, worms, power washer, lawn mower, garden tools not to mention the chooks.

Other women look at me in horror but I'd much rather have something useful and practical.

My hubbie-to-be bought me a nestbox for my birthday a couple of years ago. I couldn't work out if he wanted me to build a nest in it or expected me to paint it and make it look pretty. The blue tits have enjoyed it this year. I got it out and put it outside in our new garden. They started to make a nest after only two days of it being out! :D:D:D

I do like useful birthday pressies...just as well he hasn't got much imagination! Got my own back with him at christmas, I bought him a potato peeler with a 'spud' shaped handle! :D:D:D:D

I offered that once for my Hubby Claret. I said I would wait on him hand and foot, cook his favourites for lunch and dinner. Watch whatever film he wanted in the evening and give him a proper massage.

By 11.30am my best mate had phoned and asked if I fancied going to Lakeside shopping and then lunch as she had a free pass for the day from her Hubby and kids.

I ended up leaving Hubby with the 4 kids and dinner to shop for and cook! He still laughs about it now, stating that he couldn't handle another pamper day
