Just had an email from out BHWT co-ordinator confirming our rescue on Friday....i'm so excited now i can't wait! Have been keeping myself busy getting everything ready for them but i think i'm pretty much totally prepared now so getting really restless.....

Well have booked the following week off work to spend with them....but i know i'm not going to want to go back at all!!

 

Names we have decided on (me and OH decided 2 each) are:

 

Henrietta, Edwina, Thelma and Martha.

Lynne who also came on Saturday gets hers tomorrow from Omlet - now have you got your chair to warch them and the camera sorted? - and no spending too much time with the chickens that you do not report have time to report back to us on progress as well!

I was thinking about her earlier actually - bet she can't wait! I loved her phone ringtone (chicken noise for anyone else reading this)....really must get one myself!! Hope she posts some pics of her chickens this week.

I have my video camera all ready and charged up and batteries in my digital camera so i can chart their progress, i will be driving you all mad on here telling you how they are getting on every 5 minutes!!

That's great news! I bet they will think they are in a palace with their pink curtains! The week will go quick, always does. Good you got week off to settle them in, bet you'll have lots of fun with them.

Sorry to mug your thread slightly, but there's planned to be a MASSIVE rescue by Ian and Molly in Coventry in mid-June. The lovely farmer they rescue from is converting all his battery sheds to barns (Wooo Hoo) and they will have 2,000 birds coming out over about a week and two weekends. We're helping out if we can.

It certainly is - he's a good chap and has one barn already; the birds in there look far happier and content. the next step is to get them freeranging.
