Neighbour making formal noise complaint.

Hi,

I am going away to Greece for a week on Monday and need to hand my lovely new chooks over to someone to be looked after.

The girls have a normal run with an extension attached to the Eglu and my husband says the run needs to be dismantled to transport. I of course do not agree

 

Does anyone have any expereince of moving one without having to do this.

its very long & wide it wouldn't fit into a car whole, even in bits the eglu & run bits fil up an average sized car boot.

The lady that has agreed to look after them has a large van which I hope the run might fit into. The Eglu could travel in the car.

 

I just couldn't face having to take the run apart again as it was a pain putting it up.

 

It may mean that I will need to beg my neighbours to chicken sit for a week.

It depends on how big the van is.

 

The run will be very unwieldy, but you might get away with it.

 

It will be a two man job.

The run is difficult to transport when in it's made-up state, even in my van. I'd recommmend that you take it apart - it doesn't take that long to put back together again.

If you measure the internal dimensions of the van you may be lucky enough to just separate the run along the top spine first to create 2 lengths, then just take off one additional section if you need too - each side.

 

With 2 or even 3 people if necessary - you should be able to carry one connected length between you I would have thought.

Don't know if you've moved your run yet but if you are dreading putting it together at the other end, you could use cable ties (they're really cheap at B&Q). Then you could just cut them off when you bring the run home again.

we have a landrover and the run has to be dismantled to fit into our 4x4.

I hate to admit it but my husband was probably right(haven't told him that)

it would have to be dismantled.

 

We are not going away now beacuse my eldest daughter is unwell but

the lady who was going to care for them agreed to come round twice a day. Thanks Jeanette
