Has anyone been to The Domestic Fowl trust in Evesham?

and the sheer number of birds who had escaped from their pens and were roaming around.

We went last summer and there were still loads running around

Honestly though, I hated the place - while they had a great selection to see, the amount of rat holes and bait boxes around had me horrified

And the smell and small cages in the bit where they were for sale totally shocked me.

We also asked what the breed was of a chicken we had seen running around - the reply was something along the lines of 'well there are alot of different breeds running around' :?

no 'I'll come and look at which one you're on about'

We went there a week before our cube delivery and I was all ready to pull out after seeing that

Thank goodness for the next place we went to :D

I was moderately impressed when I went at Easter. There were a number of escapees but the birds looked healthy and happy, and the chicken catching chap just used a large net, exactly like all the other breeders I've visted. They were overpriced for the birds, but they've been extremely healthy and good layers thus far. And the chickenalia shop is excellent. And the baby goats.

Thanks!

I found a horsy place online that also sells poultry stuff and is at or near Top Barn...do you know it? Can't remember the name at the moment...

"Equestrian & Country Leisure Ltd" is at Top Barn about a mile from my house. If you're going there "Pop in" and "Bring Booze"

Love to!

Will bring booze ...and cake! :D

Not this week though as overwhelmed with work plus trying to occupy 9-yr-old on half-term!!

Will pm you if I get a chance to go over...do you recommend it?
