I have 8 out of 9 girls laying (hence no blue eggs - she layed 3 in January and then none since!! ) and have had one 8 egg day last week! ..lay a little egg for me Posted May 28, 2008 Share Posted May 28, 2008 My Speckledy hen also lays dark brown, shiny eggs...I think it is the Maran influence. Question about the egg skelter...how well do the eggs roll down when you take one from the bottom? I fancy one but worried that the eggs either don't roll down so you have to shift them by hand, or roll too fast and come tumbling off the bottom!!! Do they cope with varying sizes of egg OK?
