access behind integrated fridge/freezer

Recommended Posts

anyone ever dropped anything behind one of these? The unit ours is sitting in has a shelf at the top where I had a plastic wallet/binder, it's fallen down the back of the fridge/freezer and the only way to get it out is to take the whole fridge/freezer out of the integrated unit. It's floor to almost ceiling so there's no room to even poke anything down the back

we can't leave it there can we as it's plastic and the back of a fridge/freezer can be quite hot?

I'm in the doghouse!

Actually, I think that's a bad design fault as there's no way to get to the plug socket either without removing the whole fridge/freezer!

I don't s'pose anyone has any bright ideas? :?

has it fallen right down?? ie could you remove the skirting and retrieve from the bottom??

tried that but the bottom shelf which the fridge sits on goes right to the wall so there's no way to get to the back of the fridge without pulling it out

if the top shelf went right to the wall as well, we wouldn't be having this problem. They must have left it like that for ventilation :?:

DH spilt a jar of coffee all over the floor while trying to sort out the fridge, so hoovered it up then i got a packet of crispis from the cupboard but they were already open at one end and they went all over the floor!

The bad luck fairy has well and truly paid us a visit this afternoon

whoops, it will all be better soon  I went and asked hubby who is a carpenter (he fits kitchens sometimes) he was shaking his head and said.. it will have to come out.. why do all builders do that shaking head thing

did he do that sharp intake of breath too? ;)

needless to say, i won't be keeping anything up there again that might fall behind!

Your hubby sounds like mine. He goes ape when things like that happen, unless he does them of course and even then it is somehow my fault :lol:

They like to feel useful really :D

he only got home from work at 3pm (been up since 5am) so wasn't best pleased to be woken from a nap to then have to dismantle the fridge!

it's okay now, made him a cuppa and a sarnie, they way to a man's heart etc etc ;)
