Seagazer
I'm going to see The Osmonds tonight at Wembley! I had hoped to be able to spend some time this week listening to some of their old records - suppose I can't remember the words - how awful Ok I will admit it - I still love Donny (don't tell my husband)
crazygal
did you see them all on Jonathan Ross last Friday?
Seagazer
I did - wow - aren't we all getting old!!! Donny still looked gorgeous though I'm just sitting, waiting, till its time to get ready. Twiddling my thumbs, getting a bit nervous actually. I haven't been to a concert in absolutely years and years (in fact I think I've only been to 3). One was Culture Club when they first started out and then I saw Q Tips at South Bank Polytechnic with my then boyfriend (now hubby) and then we saw Paul Young (of Q Tips fame) at Wembley when he'd made it a bit bigger. Actually I lied I just remembered that we took the kids when they were younger to see Steps. Oh the shame. I'm not very rock and roll am I? Egluntyne
Donny is quite easy on the eye. Marie freaks me out. She always looked as if she was made of plastic. Have a great time.
Seagazer
Same here Eglutine - I think she's made friends with the Botox a little too often!!
Yorkshire Pudding
No-one with eight kids could possibly look like that without some help! There's only so much you can do with American dentistry and magic knickers....
Nutmeg
Ok hands up, who had a Donny Osmond poster on their bedroom wall? Have a great evening Seagazer
Ain't Nobody Here
I was a David Cassidy fan . Sorry, Donny .
Seagazer
Wow - that was a fantastic evening. They certainly put on a good show! Met some lovely ladies on the tube there (coincidentally from Sidcup). We were laughing about how the audience was going to be full of ladies of a certain age. We just hoped that everybody didn't have a flush at the same time. You can imagine the looks we were getting. What a happy audience though, everyone smiling and polite! We were at the back but I have to say that Marie looked very good, and she was so friendly. She got a chap out of the audience and got him to sing with her. But the biggest cheers as ever were for Donny - ahh. At last I've seen him (well nearly thanks to a big screen) live. I actually had tears in my eyes watching the old film clips, remembering my youth and looking with longing at Donny
susiepoos
Ok hands up, who had a Donny Osmond poster on their bedroom wall? Have a great evening Seagazer Me!!!! I had a wall full of him!!!! Saw them at the MEN in Manchester last Saturday and they were fabulous - it was a great show with all the old songs - OH bought me tickets for Mothers Day and he decided to come along with me - he thought he would be the only bloke there but there was quite a few. During one of the 'stand up and dance' songs the woman standing next to him grabbed hold of his arm and started dancing with him - I've not laughed so much in years - poor thing didn't know what do to, he was absolutely petrified - of course his interpretation of the situation was slightly different and at 50 he could still 'pull' the girls - you wouldn't have described her as a girl by any stretch of the imagination It was a bit sad to see Alan who has MS struggling but he uses a stick to help him walk and every now and again he get rid of the stick and stand by himself. By the way, the reason Marie looks so good is because although she has 8 children only 3 are naturally hers the other 5 are adopted. She suffered quite badly with post natal depression so I am assuming that's why she adopted.
Seagazer
Ah I did wonder whether that was the case. I should have asked one of the friends I was with. She's a huge fan and seemed to know everything. They were brilliant though weren't they! I was telling some other friends about it last night and one has made me promise to take her next time. missuscluck
Brilliant. Im glad you had a lovley time seagazer. My big sister was a Donny fan and I loved little Jimmy. My first record was 'long haired lover from Liverpool' I still have it but its barely recognisable as its so scratched. My mum would leave it on the record player on repeat as I would have a paddy if she took it off. In my defence, I think I was only about 2!
